Mexico Earthquake

Mexico City earthquake - Added 19th September 2017 - Updated 27th September 

An earthquake measuring 7.1 magnitude struck Mexico on 19th September 2017. 

The quake hit the state of Puebla at a depth of 32 miles (51 km). It was felt in the center of Mexico City, which is only about 75 miles (121 km) from the epicenter. 

A number of aftershocks have been recorded following the initial earthquake and further aftershocks are anticipated. Local authorities have opened shelters for those most badly affected. 

Mexico City Airport was temporarily closed on the 19th September which resulted in some airlines cancelling/re-arranging flights. It has now reopened. 

Customers are advised to re-confirm flights with the airline directly. Check out the Mexico City airport's website for airline contact details.
