Some governments are advising against all but essential travel to parts of Malaysia.
This includes all islands off the coast of eastern Sabah from Kudat to Tawau, including (but not limited to) Lankayan, Mabul, Pom Pom, Kapalai, Litigan, Sipadan and Mataking.
There are regular political demonstrations in central Kuala Lumpur. Popular gathering points are Masjid Jamek, Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square) and KLCC. Rallies may be called at short notice. Monitor local media, be vigilant and avoid large political gatherings.
There is an ongoing outbreak of coronavirus. You should comply with any additional screening measures put in place by the Malaysian authorities.
Malaysian owned, and Malaysian based, airlines have suspended some flights between Malaysia and mainland China. If you’re due to travel, keep in touch with your airline as flights in the region may be cancelled at short notice.
