Political protests in the capital Malé have subsided the presidential election in September 2018 and the inauguration of the new president in November 2018. You should continue to exercise caution and avoid any protests or rallies. Outlying islands, resorts or Malé International Airport are not usually affected by protests or rallies.
Take care of your valuables and other personal possessions, and be aware of the risk of the street crime.
